| Cologne – Thanks to a newly integrated feature, INTACTON's high-end sensor system COVIDIS is suitable for measuring thin materials such as cables, wire ropes or yarns. Precise adjustment of COVIDIS sensors is ensured by an integrated illumination system, which facilitates commissioning: a toggle switch allows users to switch between normal measuring operation and illuminating the measuring field. The so-called “Pilot Light” images the sensor's line scan camera directly onto the measured material (see picture), thus making adjustment much easier. COVIDIS enables non-contact, highly precise velocity and length measuring, allowing users to minimize wastage and save resources. COVIDIS sensors consist of an LED illumination system, a high-speed camera, transmitting and receiving optics and processing electronics. They cover a wide velocity measuring range of up to 50 m/s. The high-precision sensors have a measurement uncertainty of less than 0.05 %, thereby qualifying for use in applications such as the precise cutting of yard goods and the synchronization of processes or plant components. |
